Brown-Wilson Group Privacy Policy

This statement explains our Privacy Policy. It is important for users to understand exactly what information we gather about them, and how we ultimately use it. By visiting our site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. We take your privacy seriously, and any personally identifying information that you provide us is used for the sole purpose of serving you better. We uphold this commitment through our philosophy, technology and methodology. Brown-Wilson Group is also committed to protecting the privacy of people who participate in our research surveys.

Brown-Wilson Group voluntarily complies with and supports the Online Privacy Principles and Guidelines of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).

We also strictly adhere to the privacy policies of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (“CASRO”). Among other things, CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics for Survey Research states that market researchers will not harass or deceive the people whom they contact, and will not conduct surveys through surreptitious means. Finally, we adhere to both the ESOMAR / ICE International Code on Market and Social Research and the ESOMAR Research Code and Guidelines when Conducting Market and Opinion Research Using the Internet.

Web Site Information Collection, Dissemination and Use

Brown-Wilson Group collects data in order to perform statistical analyses on the aggregate characteristics and behavior of our users. This data is collected to determine users’ aggregate preferences. Brown-Wilson Group shares these aggregated statistics in order to provide services to our customers, advertisers, and partners. We never share any information about specific individuals with any third party. No personally identifiable information is ever disclosed, unless mandated by a court of law. A few sections of our website contain areas where visitors can provide personally identifiable information to us. This information is stored and used to track activity of our website visitors. We also will use this information to contact you when you express interest in our services. Our website does not use cookies. For each visitor to our website, our web server automatically recognizes the name of the visitor’s Internet domain and information regarding what pages are accessed. This information is used to track user patterns. We do this in order to determine the usefulness of our website content to our visitors and to see if our navigational structure is helpful in getting our users to that information. We do not correlate that information with individual users. We also track the number of visitors to different pages on our site, but keep no personal information.

Purpose of Market Research Surveys

We perform market research surveys for the benefit of our clients, who include for-profit companies, non-profit organizations and governmental institutions. Our clients use the survey results for a variety of purposes. For example, survey results are used to better understand customer awareness, use, and preferences for various products and services. Other clients use the survey results to measure social attitudes and public opinion on political and social issues.

Survey Information Collection, Dissemination and Use

We combine survey responses in a given survey with the responses of all others who participate and report those combined responses to the client that commissioned the study. We will never intentionally report individual survey responses. The only exceptions to the foregoing rule are if (a) you explicitly consent to sharing identifying information and individual responses with our client, or (b) in accordance with CASRO guidelines, we provide survey responses to another market researcher for the purpose of conducting confidential, follow-up market research.

Confidentiality of Contact Information

In addition to keeping survey responses confidential, we will never sell, share, rent or otherwise intentionally transfer respondent name, address, telephone number or e-mail address to our clients, other market research companies, direct marketing companies or anyone else. The only exceptions to this rule arise when (a) you have won a sweepstakes we sponsored, in which case we may disclose the winner’s name, address and related information with the consent of the winner, or (b) we transfer your information to another market researcher for the purposes of confirming your participation in a particular research study or conducting confidential, follow-up market research.

Internet Activities

We abide by the highest standards of privacy established by the Internet community in the United States. In particular: (a) we will never intentionally “spam” Internet users to seek their participation in surveys. Rather, we will send e-mail invitations only to people who we believe have “opted-in” – i.e., affirmatively agreed – to receive such invitations through prior, independent communications; (b) we will give every person who receives an e-mail invitation the opportunity to “opt-out” of that invitation and all future e-mail solicitations; (c) we maintain a high level of security to prevent outside parties from having access to information electronically transmitted to us by you; (d) although we use cookies (data sent to and stored on your computer) to facilitate the interactive survey process in certain on-line studies, the cookie gathers no data from you other than survey responses. It cannot read other data on your computer and it cannot detect your other Internet activities.

Security

Brown-Wilson Group has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Employees at Brown-Wilson Group are fully aware of these security measures and continually strive to protect user privacy. Brown-Wilson Group is committed to taking reasonable steps to assure that any personally identifiable information provided to us is protected. We realize that privacy is very important to you and so it is to us.

Privacy Policy Questions and Changes

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy. Brown-Wilson Group reserves the right to update and make changes to this privacy notice. If we materially change our practices in handling personally identifiable information, as described in this notice, we will post the changes on our website at least 30 days prior to their implementation. We encourage you to review this privacy notice frequently to ensure that you stay apprised of any changes.
