Aman Chee, Senior Director at Clutch Group, an organization dedicated to helping companies tackle complex legal, risk and compliance issues, will be delivering an address at the ‘Managing Financial Crime Risks and Digital Investigations’ seminar hosted by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB).
The objective of the address is to help the attendees gain a better understanding of financial crime and the particular challenges faced by the banking industry. Mr. Chee will examine case studies, highlighting best practices for internal governance as well as identifying key considerations and benefits stemming from digital investigation. The address will also cover an extensive overview of the current financial crime climate as well as updates on evidentiary laws and chain of custody regulations.
“This seminar is a great opportunity to bring attention to some of the latest trends in financial crime risk management. Our goal is to help educate and update bank executives and risk officers and to give their organizations a distinctive advantage in this space,” said Mr. Chee. “Furthermore, the changing regulatory landscape is constantly impacting how companies conduct digital investigations. Platforms such as the one offered by HKIB allow subject matter experts to share knowledge with colleagues throughout the industry.”
Mr. Chee possesses nearly 20 years of experience in financial crime investigation, including fraud, corruption, money-laundering and credit card counterfeiting, and has assisted in related court prosecutions. Recently, he joined Clutch Group’s Hong Kong office – opened in June of this year – with the mandate to lead the organization’s expansion strategy in the APAC region. With his deep expertise in anti-fraud and corruption strategy, Mr. Chee serves as the subject matter expert for clients looking to bolster their controls and systems, comply with global regulations, and identify internal and external risks.
Mr. Chee spent 14 years with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, an organization dedicated to fighting corruption through investigation, prevention, and education, where he moved up to the rank of Chief Investigator, and was a core team member in a special task force jointly set up with the Hong Kong Police concerning a major cross-border bank-related corruption and AML investigation. Afterwards, Mr Chee joined Ernst Young as a Senior Manager in Fraud Investigation Dispute Services, and then progressed to the Head of Anti-Fraud and Forensics of Deutsche bank responsible for strategic development of its regional anti-fraud program and governance. Mr Chee was awarded Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Master of Laws in International Corporate and Financial Laws.
The Managing Financial Crimes Risks and Digital Investigations seminar will be of primary interest to bank executives, senior management, risk management officers, legal and compliance executives, internal auditors, AML officers, fraud investigation officers, and anti-bribery/corruption officers. The seminar is to be held on Friday, November 27th. The language of the address will be Cantonese, supplemented with English Materials.
